Serena Irving - Director

BCom, CA, DipCom, certified Xero Advisor, DTM

Serena offers business mentoring, accounting and tax advice to a wide variety of clients. She particularly enjoys working with creative professionals, internet businesses and startups.

Serena became a director on 20 June 2018. Serena brings several years' experience in mid-tier chartered accountancy firms to the company. 

Serena is a volunteer mentor in the Business Mentors NZ network. She is a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) and has served several times on the Toastmasters District 72 & 112 (New Zealand) district executive. She is a circle facilitator for She Owns It businesswomen network, a member of Venus Ellerslie businesswomen network and an Enduring member of Auckland Chinese Community Centre. She is an active member of Friends of Orakei School (FOS) and kaitiaki (caretaker/guardian) for Pataka Kai Orakei community food pantry. Serena is married to Glen and they have two young daughters.

Rohit Prasad - Director

BBus, DipBus, CA

Rohit loves to deep-dive into businesses to help them improve efficiencies, profitability and reduce waste.

Rohit became a director on 29 March 2022. He brings a wealth of accounting experience, from mid-tier CA firms, particularly in tax, business structures, farm accounting, accounting systems and business improvement. He's very friendly, helpful and astute, and is an excellent support for clients looking to find success in business. He speaks English, Hindi and conversational Fijian.

Rohit loves running half-marathons, playing hockey and soccer, coaching his daughters’ hockey teams, DIY home improvements and spending time with his family.

Murray Wells - Principal

BCom, CA, CMA, LLO

Murray is a trust and estate specialist, with extensive trust management knowledge and is an active member of the Chartered Accountants ANZ Auckland branch Trust Special Interest Group. 

Murray combines significant expertise and experience, with empathy and understanding, when dealing with family members who are settlors and beneficiaries. He has built great relationships over many years, with clients who became friends and friends who became clients.

His client portfolio includes a number of significant companies whom he advises on a wide range of commercial issues.  He helps to structure small and medium sized businesses in the most tax effective manner, as well providing sound accounting and tax advice.

Murray joined the firm in 1971 after graduating from Auckland University and became a partner in 1973.

Brian Sheridan- Principal

BCom, FCA (Ireland), CA (New Zealand)

Brian joined JDW Chartered Accountants in 1989. He focuses on managing audit client requirements, with primary responsibility for the firm's audit portfolio.

He also advises small and medium sized businesses in financial and taxation matters. he has experience in valuing businesses and company shares.

He was born and educated in Ireland and settled in New Zealand in 1985. Brian and his wife Jane have two children Grace and Conor. 

His interests include Gaelic football, sport and being involved in the Irish Society.

He is a trustee of the Saint Patrick's Festival Trust and a committee member of the Irish Business Network New Zealand Inc.

Brian speaks Gaelic as his second language.

Tracy Bian - Principal

MPhil, BCom, CA (New Zealand), CPP

Tracy's main area of expertise is financial accounting and she is well-liked by her clients. She has been a member of the JDW Chartered Accountants team since 2006, and recently joined the management team, gaining her Certificate of Public Practice in 2021.

She initially studied philosophy and attained a Masters in Philosophy from the University of Beijing before moving to New Zealand in 2000.

From there Tracy started her accountancy studies, gaining her full CA qualification in 2009. Tracy has attained her MYOB approved partner certification.

Her interests are badminton, walking, travelling and sudoku.
